ABC Group has developed innovative construction methodologies and a proprietary conductive shotcrete variant derived from three years of ongoing sponsored research with a leading university and their world-class experts in the field. The result is our expanded portfolio of business continuity hardened structures, designed to provide multi-threat protection for critical infrastructure, power generating companies, the military, financial institutions, and other vulnerable industries.
The threat is real and every day more compelling information is revealed about the EM threat, particularly to critical infrastructure. Our Omni-Threat Structures ™ offer a viable, cost-effective solution.
Upon completion, our scalable shielded structures are engineered to meet specific client criteria, particularly as it relates to high security and architectural styles that are deliberately unobstrusive/traditional.
United States EMP Commission statement about the domino effect an EMP attack would have on the United States.
“The primary avenues for catastrophic damage to the nation are through our electric power infrastructure and thence into our telecommunications, energy, and other infrastructures. These, in turn, can seriously impact other important aspects of our nation’s life, including the financial system; means of getting food, water, and medical care to the citizenry; trade; and production of goods and services. The recovery of any one of the key national infrastructures is dependent on the recovery of others.”
Characterization of the EM Threat
It is important to consider the ever increasing interdependence of the electric grid and telecommunication infrastructures and of the reliance of both infrastructures on electronic control and data processing. This interdependence raises the risk of a successful attack.
Assessment of specific grid vulnerability issues is required first.
A strong mitigation plan, with mitigation in place, including an appropriate spares strategy, in itself may provide deterrence against such attacks, because the consequence of an attack could be ameliorated or eliminated. As the power industry transitions towards integration of smart grid technology, the need for a standard for EMP and EMI protection becomes more relevant.
ABC Group’s Omni-Threat Structures offer the power grid security against EMP/IEMI and physical attack threats.
American Business Continuity Group, LLC constructs conductive concrete structures for multi-threat protection from High Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP), Intentional Electromagnetic Interference (IEMI), compromising emanations, terrorist ballistic/blast attacks and extreme natural disasters. ABC Group’s proprietary construction methodologies have been deployed to build steel-reinforced concrete structures that are threat configurable, scalable, energy efficient and cost effective.
The ABC Group has three decades of success as a high integrity industrial GC, a decade of success with specialized design-build hardened structures and experience in the nuclear power industry, building Fukushima Flex/Beyond Design Basis structures that meet NRC Regulatory Guide 1.76 standards.
Building on a history of success, the company now constructs EMP – IEMI shielded structures that also incorporates protection from ballistic /blast, natural threats, including Cat 5 hurricanes, EF-5 tornados, and seismic events.
